Please read all of these instructions carefully.
- Entry Process: All entries for the 2026 Sacramento Meet of Champions Track and Field Invitational (SMOC) must be submitted online at https://www.athletic.net. Telephone, mail-in entry forms, email and FAX entries will NOT be accepted. We believe this process will limit mistakes and increase convenience.
- How To Register Your School:
- Create An Account: If you do not already have one create an athletic.net account for your school by logging on to https://www.athletic.net. Detailed instructions on how to open an athletic.net account and enter athletes can be viewed by following this link.
- Send Request To Enter The SMOC: To add the SMOC to your calendar look for the "+ Add A Meet" button on your athletic.net team page, select it, then use the search bar and enter 2026 Sacramento Meet of Champions. Click on the meet to expand it, and locate the button to send a request to enter the meet.
- Entry Confirmation: Your request acts as your entry declaration. Once we receive your request to enter we will confirm your declaration which will then show the SMOC on your athletic.net team calendar as the color green. This confirmation does not guarantee an invitation to the SMOC for your athletes/relay teams, it just means you have been cleared to submit entries for consideration by our selection committee when the entry period opens on February 23, 2026.
- How To Enter Athletes/Relay Teams:
- Athletic.net Entry Process: Go to your athletic.net home page. On your season calendar to the left of the page select the Sacramento Meet of Champions then the blue "Register Athletes" button. Next, simply select the athlete you would like to enter. When the event list comes up select which events you want to enter your athlete in. If all of your team's results have been posted on athletic.net your athlete's seed times/marks will already have been automatically entered and up to date. If your athlete's/relay team's entry time/mark is missing or your team's results have not been posted on athletic.net go to the next step.
- Override Seed: If you choose to enter marks using the “add seed” option in athletic.net you must state the meet and date the mark was achieved or the mark will be rejected. To do this first enter the mark in the override seed field then click on the callout icon (
) to the right of the override seed field to enter your comment. Finally, enter the meet and meet date into the new comment field.
- Relay Seeds: Make sure to double-check that you have a seed mark entered when you enter your relay teams.
- 4 x 800 Relay Entries: There are two ways to enter a 4 x 800 relay team into the SMOC. You can enter an actual mark or an aggregate mark (we will only accept aggregate marks for the 4 x 800 relay, we will not accept aggregate marks for any other relay).
- Enter an actual relay mark if all four athletes have competed in the 4 x 800 in 2026.
- You can also enter an aggregate (four open times added together) relay mark for the 4 x 800 relay. Aggregate times are acceptable by all four relay members if all four relay team members have not competed in the 4 x 800 relay event this season.
- Aggregate times will be seeded with a time penalty (We will add 2 seconds for the boys 4x800 and 3 seconds for the girls 4x800).
- Actual relay times are given greater weighting than aggregate times.
- If using an aggregate time, you MUST put "Aggregate" in the entry note AND include the separate split times and separate meets for where EACH of those four marks were achieved.
- Marks Verification: Make sure all your teams’ official results, dual and invitational, are posted to athletic.net. Results posted to athletic.net will be used for verification of entry marks. If your official results appear on athletic.net you will not need to bother with the override seed option as mentioned above.
- Please use your cell phone as your athletic.net contact so if needed we can contact you directly.
- 2026 Marks Only: Only indoor or outdoor marks accomplished on or after January 1, 2026 will be considered for invitations to the SMOC.
- Entry Considerations: When entering your athletes, consider the minimum qualifying marks provided on our web site and potential conflicts with respect to the athletes you are entering with school activities (e.g.; senior balls, SAT exams) that may be occurring on the weekend of the SMOC (April 24 – April 26). Please note that achieving the minimum qualifying marks in “Table 1 – Average Minimum Qualifying Marks” does not necessarily guarantee an invitation to the SMOC.
- Important Dates:
